Eagles coach Andy Reid told reporters on Sunday that Michael Vick was still his starting quarterback, but he did admit today that there is a pretty good chance that Kevin Kolb will start Sunday against the Titans.
Vick was the team’s third quarterback on Sunday, but Reid said the quarterback would have only handed the ball off if he was forced into the game because of injuries. The Eagles are likely not going to push Vick on to the field until after the team’s bye in Week 8.
Fantasy owners should hold on to Vick, if they have him. And Kolb could be an option if you have to sit Texans QB Matt Schaub or Colts QB Peyton Manning who will be on a bye this week.
Reid also said that it would be a stretch to expect WR DeSean Jackson back this week. WR Jason Avant had five receptions for 62 yards, but don’t expect him to automatically put up huge numbers. This actually could be the week that TE Brent Celek breaks out. But we’ve heard that before, right?
