Redskins TE Cooley limited in practice

Posted: October 20th, 2010 | Adam Rank | Tags: Washington Redskins, Chris Cooley, Fred Davis

Redskins TE Chris Cooley was limited in practice on Wednesday, taking part in light drills. But there is a hope that Cooley can practice on Thursday.

Cooley is no stranger to head injuries, having admitted playing with concussions. In fact, he said in a recent radio interview that he had lost a whole day because of concussions.

But you have to wonder if he will be able to get past the new concussion screening policies. This is something that most fantasy enthusiasts will need to monitor. Cooley owners should make sure to have TE Fred Davis as a backup plan, if you have not done so already.

Redskins TE Cooley to play in Week 7?

Posted: October 21st, 2010 | Michael Fabiano | Tags: Chris Cooley, Fred Davis, Michael Fabiano

Ryan O’Halloran, the Redskins beat writer for CSNwashington.com, tweeted that Chris Cooley (concussion) participated in a full practice on Thursday and is expected to play in Week 7.

That’s good news for fantasy owners, as Cooley has been a stable No. 1 tight end for much of the season.

Do keep in mind, though, that the Utah State product also has a tough matchup against the Bears — their defense has surrendered an average of just 5.3 fantasy points to tight ends in 2010.

Cooley’s expected presence makes Fred Davis far less attractive for owners.
