1. Ravens — Already played at New England, Jets, Steelers and Bengals; fat part of schedule up ahead.
2. Steelers — Last week I wrote: Big Ben will open up that offense. Ask Mike Wallace how long it took to take hold.
3. Jets — Over/under on number of people who will lash out at me on Twitter for not putting them No. 1?
4. Saints — Offense showing signs of life. Defense more sound than a year ago.
5. Patriots — Statement win for them, post-Randy Moss, coming back down 10 on a physical defense.
6. Colts — They will be there in the end, as always.
7. Titans — Chris Johnson will get it going; Kenny Britt growing each game.
8. Giants – Pound ball on ground, buy Eli time to make a few big plays and get after the passer. Sounds like the Super Bowl recipe from a few years back.
9. Packers — Overcame mundane start a year ago. Not ready to bail on them yet.
10. Eagles — Like the Packers, stars keep dropping every week. Injuries have not been kind.
11. Texans — I give up. Flip a coin every week with this bunch.
12. Chiefs — Valiant again in defeat. In their division, they could be the true “Why Not?” Team of 2010.
13. Falcons — Matt Ryan has to pick it up some on the road. Turner off to slow start as well.
14. Dolphins — Davone Bess and Brandon Marshall form a formidable duo.
15. Vikings — Winners of Desperation Bowl, 2010. Hooray!
16. Seahawks — Finally win on road and have the division sitting up for them.
17. Redskins — Won’t go very far giving up 450 yards every week.
18. Buccaneers – Need to take care of bottom feeders, because better teams expose them quickly.
19. Rams – Sam Bradford gets more impressive every week.
20. Bengals — Need Carson Palmer to be NFL’s most improved player in second half of season … Or else.
21. Bears — Cannot run the ball against competent opponents; issues with the roster creeping up.
22. Cowboys — Still stuck in self-destruct mode with penalties and picks. Tony Romo doing them no favors.
23.) Jaguars — Staying alive against divisional foes will test them.
24. Chargers — Biggest disappointments in the NFL, which is saying something in this year of parity.
25. Broncos — Suffered some painful losses at home. Must win against Oakland this week.
26. Lions — Matt Stafford back after the bye. They will get better.
27. Cardinals — Can they keep the Max Hall madness going?
28. 49ers — Don’t look now, but they face winless Carolina and could be right back in NFC West hunt.
29. Raiders — Same old situation there. Can’t sustain anything.
30. Browns — Josh Cribbs with a concussion now? Gonna be a lean season.
31. Panthers — Front office resolved not to trade any top talent ahead of deadline.
32. Bills — One bye week not enough for this bunch.
