Dallas Clark is without question one of the top tight ends in fantasy football. Unfortunately for owners who drafted him to be a staple of their starting lineup, he’s now out indefinitely due to a hand injury.
The Indianapolis Star reports that Colts team president Bill Polian said Clark’s injury is “not something that’s very safe to play with. It’s likely that he will have to have it fixed (surgery).” Polian went on to say that his tight end “will be out for a while, if not longer.”
The Colts are on a bye this week, so owners with Clark already need to find an alternative fast. The tight ends I’d be looking to add, in order, are Aaron Hernandez, Heath Miller, Benjamin Watson and Tony Moeaki.
Owen Daniels and Brandon Pettigrew are also long-term options, though both are off this week. Jacob Tamme, who will start in Clark’s absence, is worth a look in deeper leagues.
